Your questions answered

Is Credit for Comfort a financing company?
No. Credit for Comfort is an application that houses multiple lending partners and allows contractors to offer financing to their customers. Our current four lending partners include: GreenSky, our Prime lender, Fortiva, our 2nd look lender, CustomFin, our super prime to sub-prime multi-lender partner, and Ygrene, our PACE (property assessed clean energy financing) financing provider. *Please note, not all contractors will offer all these financing options.
What are the eligibility requirements for Prime lender GreenSky?
To qualify for a GreenSky Prime loan, you must be a U.S. citizen, have a social security number and have good to excellent credit.
What are the eligibility requirements for 2nd look lender Fortiva?
To qualify for a Fortiva loan, you must be a U.S. citizen, have a social security number and have fair credit.
What is PACE financing?
Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) enables a low cost, long term financing for a variety of energy efficiency, renewable energy, water conservation, storm protection and seismic improvements. PACE financing is repaid over time as a special assessment/tax on the property’s tax bill.
What are the eligibility requirements for Ygrene?
To be eligible for Ygrene, your property must be located in one of their service areas. Eligibility is based on equity and your ability to pay, among other factors-not your FICO score. To find out if you're covered please visit: https://ygrene.com/service-areas
What are the costs associated with financing?
Financing costs vary based on the financing plan you select. The cost is directly associated with the APR (annual percentage rate) interest.
How will applying for a loan affect my credit?
This depends on the lender. GreenSky requires a hard pull of your credit. When applying for Fortiva and CustomFin, a soft credit pull is required for pre-approval. And once you've accepted a loan from Fortiva or from CustomFin, a hard pull is required. Finally, even though eligibility for Ygrene is not based on FICO scores, Ygrene will do a hard pull on your credit to confirm certain underwriting criteria.
What will happen once I’m approved for a loan?
Once you are approved for a loan through Credit for Comfort, you will receive an automatic notification stating that you've been approved via the Credit for Comfort app. Once you've accepted it, you'll receive a follow-up email from the lender you've been approved with, providing you the terms and conditions of your loan.
How will my information be handled?
Credit for Comfort is designed with customers’ safety in mind. A qualified contractor approved to provide financing through at least one of our lending partners will text or email you the financing application you need to fill out. Once you submit the application from your device, the system will automatically clear all information that has been temporarily stored in the browser. *Please ask your contractor which lending partners they are signed-up for through the Credit for Comfort app.
